Heating and Cooling Assistance
We are grateful to the Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative for the grants that we receive to help folks with their bills. The churches of the HCPMA share responsibility for interviewing clients to determine their need and processing the necessary paperwork and contacts for the ministry (see chart below). We also have a chance to help with any other ministry needs they may have.
With the present economy situation, there is much need and the monies we periodically receive go quickly. Available funds are pledged to the utility company on behalf of the applicant based on an emergency need only. Applicants are NOT qualified just because they meet the following requirements:
1. You must be a customer of the Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative
2. You must be a Havelock/Harlow resident
3. You must not have had assistance in the past 12 months / limited to two times in five years
4. You will be asked to come to an HCPMA church to fill out and sign a short information sheet
5. We are allowed to pay 80% of your outstanding (arrears) bill up to $150. For more information on this ministry please "Contact Us"
